MY SEXUAL HEALTH
About us
Compassionate, expert care in Joondalup
ABOUT US
Personal, patient-centred care
My Sexual Health is a specialised clinic led by Dr Michelle Yong, a highly experienced sexual health physician based in Joondalup, Perth. The clinic was created to offer a calm, inclusive, and professional space where people can feel safe discussing even the most personal health concerns, without judgement.
At the heart of My Sexual Health is a simple but powerful belief: everyone deserves access to respectful, empathetic care. Dr Yong is known for her ability to make patients feel comfortable, particularly when speaking about issues that may be difficult, sensitive, or stigmatised.
A journey built on resilience and compassion
Dr Yong was born in the UK, spent her early education in Singapore, and moved to the UK at 17 to study medicine. After 17 years in the NHS as a general physician and later in genitourinary medicine, she relocated to Western Australia to be closer to family. That move sparked a new chapter, broadening her scope to include genital skin conditions, gender-affirming care, surgical wart management, and more.
She continues to work part-time at Royal Perth Hospital, where she upskills in procedures like high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) and laser therapy, further refining her clinical expertise.
